My name is Hamed Mozafarian, and I am from Iran. I recently graduated with a Master of Science in Building Engineering from Politecnico di Torino. My master’s thesis, conducted in collaboration with the University of Birmingham, focused on monitoring underground infrastructure using Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning Algorithms. The research involves developing a dedicated dataset and comprehensive framework for segmenting various types of tunnel defects using state-of-the-art deep learning algorithms, with the aim of improving the efficiency of infrastructure monitoring and achieving a resilient transportation network.
I joined the FOURIER project for DC 15 at Infra Plan consulting group. My PhD project, Decision Optimization Tool for the Management of Risks, Robustness and Resilience in Transportation Networks, focuses on developing advanced decision-support tools that leverage cutting-edge technologies such as Digital Twins and Artificial Intelligence. The objective is to support specialists and stakeholders in the effective management, assessment, and long-term resilience of transportation infrastructure.
I joined the FOURIER project for its strong integration of academic research and industry practice, enabling the development of practical, real-world solutions to solve the challenges in infrastructure monitoring and risk management.
